With 2025 winding down, it’s a great time to do a review of the work we’ve done over the last year. It’s been a big one for all of us here. From the product side, we wanted to take a look back at the new features we’ve launched over the last 12 months – all with the goal to improve your creative workflows.
Latest ReviewStudio Features
Here are the highlights of what we released in the past year:
New PDF Proofing Features
We introduced and expanded on several features related to proofing PDFs.
- Book View / Continuous Scroll – You can now review documents with a 2-page side-by-side view and a continuous scroll option.
- Text Search – You can now search for text within the document using the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the canvas.
- Clickable Links – Links within documents are now clickable, with the target URL opening in a new tab. This lets reviewers test links to ensure they are resolving correctly.
- Color Separation – With the color separation feature, you can view the color layers of a file independently. This allows you to add a comment or markup on an individual color layer.
Query Tools
The query tool in the Review Canvas toolbar has been extended to include a number of options that may be valuable for reviewing documents or other visual media. In addition to the ruler tool, new query tools have been added to provide information on fonts, colors, and the validity of QR and bar codes.
Adobe Photoshop Plugin
The new ReviewStudio Photoshop Plugin provides Adobe Photoshop users with a fast and easy way to upload their Photoshop files and new versions to ReviewStudio for review and approval. Look for additional plugins coming in 2026, including InDesign and Premier.
Dropbox Connection
The recently-added Dropbox connection offers the ability to transfer files to and from a Review directly from a Dropbox account. Coming soon will be support for Google Drive as well.
Review Activity Log
The Review Activity Log feature in ReviewStudio provides detailed information on all the activity undertaken within a Review. This log can be particularly helpful to admins and managers looking to research the history of how particular events may have transpired.
Dashboard Notifications Feed
The dashboard notifications feed makes it easier to keep track of new activity by all users within your Reviews.
The notification feed includes details of important activity inside your account, such as when tasks are assigned to you, when a new file or version is uploaded to a Review, when an approval action has been made, and more, with a link to the associated item.
In addition, new settings options in the user profile allow you the ability to control the types of notifications you get via email, and when.
File & Review Descriptions
Now, you can add a description to files in a Review that will be displayed at the top of the comment bar. The Review description will show above any specific file descriptions that may also be provided.
This can be useful for adding supplemental information or instructions that would be important for reviewers to consider. Some users also find it useful for adding accompanying text to images, such as headers and body text for social media posts, for example.
Updates to Archiving Reviews & Projects
Individual Reviews can now be archived. Previously, either an entire Project, including its associated Reviews, was archived or not.
Now, a Project might not be archived, but it may contain Reviews within it that are archived individually. This allows for more flexibility in archiving completed projects or Approved Reviews – either within current or archived Projects.
Even More Updates
Here are some other minor (but just as important) features and updates.
- New URL Display Option – You can now specify whether or not you would like to allow navigation throughout the entire website that can be accessed from the URL specified.
- Filter by Task Assignment – In addition to showing comments initiated by a specific user, the “filter by user” option in the comment bar now also shows any comments where that user replies, is @mentioned, created tasks, or has tasks assigned to them.
- Exporting Client Reports – For Admins, it is now possible to export reports for Clients (or how your organization categorizes projects, such as Brands, Campaigns, Business, etc.).
- Printing a Contact Sheet – There is now an option to print a contact sheet of a Review (of all or a selection of files) by using the Grid View. This function has many useful applications, including photoshoots, multi-page documents, and other projects involving a series of related images.
